Description

ROLEX-A RARE ROLEX DAYTONA "CITRUS /

LEMON" DIAL WRISTWATCH in stainless steel, 116520, K324XXX, c.2001, the discoloured lemon dial was originally white but due to rare mistake from Rolex the varnish didn’t work as it should allowing the dial to change colour due to sun exposure and will keep changing if exposed to the sun pushing value up more making theses dials very desirable and sought after by collectors with three subsidiary dials, applied pencil markers, to a stainless steel oyster bracelet and folding clasp, 39mm.

This Daytona is a very rare variant of the automatic Daytona fitted with a Rolex calibre, reference 116520. Immediately one's eyes are drawn to this highly unusual citrus dial. A similar watch and like this early example, is prominently published in The Ultimate Daytona by Pucci Papaleo on page 71.
This watch would make for a great investment as they are continuously rising in value.

Accompanied by Rolex box, papers, spare link, bezel guard. For similar example see Sothebys Important Watches Part lI, Lot 413, 11.05.2022, sold for 107,100 CHE which is roughly £100k
